The warmer weather is definitely here and there’s no better way to cool down than being in a swimming pool! If you don’t have a pool in your yard and thinking of getting one, then check out these pool area ideas we have put together for any style and yard size. And you don’t always necessarily need a huge amount of space for a pool. It’s how you utilise the space that makes the difference.
When deciding colours for your pool area, it’s best to decide what you want to make as a feature. If you are wanting the greenery and landscape to be the main focal point, then it’s best to keep all walls, fences and framing and anything that sits behind or near the greenery a darker colour, as this will then blend into the scenery and will allow the greenery to really pop. A darker feature wall also works well as a backdrop to a bright coloured pool and will also bring out the blue in the pool, making it more of a feature.
If you prefer to make the walls of your pool area a feature or if you are going for that coastal or mediterranean feel, then look at keeping everything light and in an off white. Colours lighten up a lot outside and in large areas, so it’s best to often select the next darker shade of a colour that you are looking at. And if looking at white walls and especially near a pool, we wouldn’t suggest to go too bright white as otherwise you’ll get lots of glare from the wall surface as well as from the water.
