Parquetry Flooring

Parquetry Flooring is one of those trends that doesn't really date.  It has been around since the 1600's and comes from the French, meaning "a small compartment."  It is an effective decorative option to conventional timber flooring, but just as practical and timeless as timber floorboards.  Parquetry can give any space a more elegant feel as well as making a strong floor statement.  Parquetry can be laid in various patterns or why not try something different and add different colours / timbers to your Parquetry?!  With the extensive range of timber stains on the market, you can have lots of fun and add some creativity in how your Parquetry pattern is formed or play on stain and opt for a grey based undertone to bring your Parquetry into current trend.  Whether you have existing Parquetry or adding some to your space, we have found some fabulous flooring options when it comes to Parquetry.

Tip: If you are wanting the true colours and grain to be enhanced with your Parquetry Flooring, consider what type of timber you are going to use.  Each style of timber have different characteristics and tones so take these into consideration when making your selection.  Also think about how each panel is going to be laid and how the natural grain is going to compliment the pattern otherwise it will look like a jumble miss match and you'll lose that "Parquetry" look.  When selecting paint colours, take into account the colours in your timber.  If you have real warm tones in your Parquetry flooring especially strong honey tones, then go for more warmer whites that real cool ones as anything too cool with really bring out the orange in your timber and you don't want too much of a stark contrast.
