Many people consider Interior Archways to be outdated and many try to remove them or square them off if they can. However they don't always need to date your space. It's how you use the Archway that makes the difference. You can still have a modern interior with an Archway. And sometimes all it takes is how you dress your space or choice of materials to make your Archway work within your room. You can either make your Interior Archway the centre of attention by highlighting it with paint colour or add detail to your Archway with materials, or allow your Archway to step back by adding accent decor and furniture to your interior, taking the eye off the Archway. However you want your Interior Archway to be, we've found some inspiring ideas in how to make any type of Archway look good and how it can still keep your space modern and current.
Tip: When working with an Interior Archway it's good to consider shape and form. Rounded Archways work well with rounded pieces. You don't have to go crazy and keep everything round - you can add some sharpness to your space with pieces that are square or cornered in form, but it's always good to have a few rounded pieces otherwise your Archway will stand out too much and look out of place. And if you are wanting to lead the eye through the Archway into the next room, opt to paint the walls in a different colour in the next space. This will highlight your Interior Archway as well as the next space providing a coloured back drop to your Archway.
