Create your own Outdoor Kitchen this Summer

Summer is here and so too is the holiday season.  Australians love being outdoors during this time of the year, so why not make the most of it and create your own Outdoor Kitchen?!  Not only do Outdoor Kitchens always get your guests talking, but are perfect for entertaining as the clean up after is always so easy.  We've found some great Outdoor Kitchen ideas that'll impress the socks off anyone as well as some ways to create your own Outdoor Kitchen on a budget.

If you are making your own Outdoor Kitchen and sticking to a budget, then a painted design is the way to go.  Check out these simple designs.  It's amazing what you can acheive with a bit of timber and paint!  To create your own painted Outdoor Ktichen, we suggest using a 3 in 1 undercoat first, like Dulux One Step or Haymes Prepcoat Ultracover.  Once your Outdoor Kitchen frame has been undercoated, then apply a couple of coats of a water based enamel like Dulux Aquanamel or Haymes Ultratrim in your chosen paint colour.  Add your other fixtures like a sink, plumbing or BBQ and vola.... your painted Outdoor Kitchen is complete - it's that easy!

Stone & Brick

Feel your backyard is lacking some texture?  Then add the texture in your Outdoor Ktichen by using stone, bricks, and or tiles.  These surfaces are perfect to use as they are heat resistant, waterproof and very practical to maintain.  Here are some inspiring ways to add stone and brick to your Outdoor Kitchen.

Timber is another perfect choice of material to use for an Outdoor Kitchen.  Not only does it add warmth to your outdoor area but also adds that "nature" element to your backyard with its natural character.  We suggest on either staining, oiling or coating the timber to protect it from sun, rain and other harsh exterior elements.  We have a large range of Exterior Woodcare products suitable to protect any timber Outdoor Kitchen.  Click here to view our Exterior Woodcare range.
