When most people think “beach or coastal home” they think of yellow & blue. However you can create a modern coastal style using neutrals & texture. By using different tones of whites & different texture it creates interest, but also a very calming interior where the beach & views outside become the focal point.
When selecting your key decorator items & mixing textures, think drift wood, ceramics, timbers, rustic brick, limed white & neutral textured weaves. It’s then how you layer the textures & different tones that completes the look & adds warmth to the room (without taking the focus away from outside). Even if you don’t live near the beach, you can still create that feel by adding these pieces to your room.
If you don’t have exposed timber or brick walls, a great & easy way to re-create this is by wallpaper. Milton & King have some amazing Kemra wallpapers that are printed to look like the real thing!
