Black Stained Timber

Over the last couple of years there has been a real shift in trends with darker colour palettes and darker timbers being used.  Long gone are the all white spaces with many opting now for more of a dramatic look and choosing to go down the more bolder road wtih adding depth to their space.  This trend was popular decades ago with the use of Black Japan as a timber coating but today it has a more modern approach as Black Stained Timbers are being teamed back with other naturally stained timbers, concrete, stone, metals and brick for a more industrial or earthy feel.  Check out these sophisticated ideas in how easily you can add Black Stained Timber to your space.....

Tip: Using a Black Stain on timber is a perfect way to disguise imperfections and change the colour of your timber as it's a semi-transparent coating so still highlights the grain of the timber.  Because of this, think about the direction of the grain and how you are applying the timber to your space.  If you are applying your Black Stained Timber near other timbers, consider the direction of all the timbers as you don't have to have an overally busy space that's unpleasant on the eye.
