Looking for a modern take on the painted feature wall? Then look no further than a Concrete Wall! Concrete has become a very popular choice of material in modern interiors and works back beautifully with many other textures for that sleek industrial look. And if your budget doesn’t allow for a real concrete wall, then why not replicate it with paint! Dulux and Porters both have effects paint in their range to mimic Concrete, so it’s something quite easy for you to do yourself and can be applied onto most internal walls.
Concrete has now become the popular choice of material for pretty much any room of the house. It is now being used in Kitchens, Hallways, Ceilings and even sometimes in the Bathroom. Concrete has a real earthy but industrial feel about it, so is great for adding texture and depth to a space. If you want your Concrete to become a real feature, then think about keeping everything else around it quite plain and in a contrasting colour and or texture so the Concrete becomes the hero within the space. If you are wanting to create a soft space, then think about lighter colours, whereas if you want to create some drama, then go dark with your Concrete Wall.
Tip: If you are thinking about adding some Concrete effects paint in your wet area, check with the manufacturer’s recommendations first just to make sure it’ll be suitable for your intended application. Porters Fresco can be used in Bathrooms and Kitchens, however not in shower alcoves and areas that are going to be under constant water, whereas Dulux Concrete Effect is not suitable for wet areas.
